Zoological model-making

The accelerating loss of global biodiversity presents a serious challenge for both science and the  public. Rare, endangered, and evolutionarily unique species need to be documented, studied and made accessible. This often takes place under conditions where traditional preparation methods fall short. This is particularly true for certain fish and amphibians, whose bodies cannot be effectively preserved through taxidermy, or which are simply too rare to be used for such purposes.

True-to-nature animal models for research and exhibition

Reco-Brandt develops highly accurate animal models for use in research and exhibition. They allow species to be studied and presented in detail, even where original specimens are unavailable or cannot be preserved. Combining scientific precision with refined craftsmanship, each model conveys morphology, proportions, and surface structures with clarity and reliability.

Our resin models are designed for long-term stability, with lasting color and precise detail, making them ideal for:

  • Natural history museums

  • Scientific collections

  • Research and educational institutions

  • Permanent and temporary exhibitions

Consultation and project development

Each model is planned and produced individually, from scientific research through to fabrication and final presentation. We are happy to advise you and develop a solution tailored to your project.

The model of the coelacanth Latimeria chalumnae by Sebastian is the finest I have ever seen. It matches exactly what we observed during the first filmed encounters with these animals.
